COERR Organized Disaster Risk Reduction Training in Temporary Shelters

   Throughout May 2022, COERR Mae Sariang, Mae Sot and Kanchanaburi organized Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Training in several Temporary Shelters to Emergency Response Team, Volunteers, Youth and displaced persons in general.

   The contents included preparedness for various disasters that frequently happened in Shelters, such as Rainstorm, Flashfloods, Land and Mud Slides, Drought, Wild Fire, Prevention and Extinguishing, First Aid, Emergency Drills, Demonstration of Fire Extinguisher, etc.

   COERR Mae Sariang organized DRR training for Emergency Response Team and Volunteers at Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter during May 17th-18th, for 233 participants of 133 females and 100 males, and at Ban Mae Lama Luang on May 23rd, for 233 participants of 115 youth and 118 adults.

   COERR Mae Sot Organized Emergency Drill at Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province on May 20th, for 300 male and female participants; and Landslide Prevention Activity in Ban Umpiem Temporary Shelter, Phop Phra District, Tak Province, with 50 participants of 32 females and 18 males on May 18th.

   COERR Kanchanaburi organized DRR refresher training course in Ban Don Yang Temporary Shelter in Kanchanaburi Province for 15 Emergency Response Team Members, of 12 males and 3 females. The training aimed at enhancing the trainees’ knowledge and leadership skills so as to become community based DRR trainers. Another Training of Trainer (TOT) course was provided for 35 youth volunteers of 19 males and 16 females. Emergency fire drill was also made in which 211 participants of 123 males and 88 females attended.

   DRR Training in Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Ratchabrui Province was organized on May 16th, in which 13 Emergency Response Team members of 12 males and 1 female attended. Training of trainers (TOT) was also organized for 64 youth of 33 males and 31 females; and finally, emergency fire drill was held for 203 participants of 85 males and 118 females.
